Used Barrel Saddles

A quality used barrel saddle gives you the speed-focused design — deep seat, forward-hung stirrups, close contact skirt — without the $3,000+ price of buying new. We regularly carry used barrel saddles from Circle Y, Martin Saddlery, and Billy Cook in seat sizes from 13" to 16". If you're competing and need a saddle that lets you ride aggressively through turns, these are built for exactly that. Most of our used barrel saddles are priced between $500 and $1,800.

Used Trail and Ranch Saddles

Trail and ranch saddles make up the largest portion of our used inventory. If you're riding 4+ hours a day, all-day comfort matters more than anything else — and a broken-in used ranch saddle often rides better on day one than a stiff new one. We stock used trail and ranch saddles from McCall, Circle Y, Billy Cook, and Dakota in regular, SQHB, and FQHB tree widths. Inspection before listing. We check the tree (no broken trees, ever), rigging, fleece, leather condition, and stitching. If it doesn't pass, we don't list it.

7 Day from Day received Trial. Our return policy gives you 7 days from the day you receive the saddle to make sure the saddle works for you and your horse. If the fit isn't right for any reason, send it back. *Shipping charges & a 5%restock fee will apply

Local Trial. If you're local and can visit us at the store: Our saddle trial program lets you try up to three saddles for two to three days. If the fit isn't right for you or your horse, return it and we'll help you find a better match. Fit matters more than price — a $400 saddle that fits is worth more than a $2,000 one that doesn't.

Consignment pricing. Sellers set their own price. We don't mark up used saddles — what you see is what the owner is asking. That keeps prices honest.

Place the saddle on the ground resting on the horn. Push down on the cantle — if there's flex, cracking sound or give, the tree may be cracked. At Saddle Up Colorado, we check every used saddle's tree before listing. If it doesn't pass, we won't sell it.
